Reefers
A refrigerator truck is a van or truck designed to carry perishable freight at specific temperatures. Like refrigerator cars, refrigerated trucks differ from simple insulated and ventilated vans (commonly used for transporting fruit), neither of which are fitted with cooling apparatus.
Refrigerator trucks can be ice-cooled, equipped with any one
of a variety of mechanical refrigeration systems powered
by small displacement diesel engines, or utilize carbon dioxide (either as dry ice or in liquid form) as a cooling agent.
The first successful mechanically refrigerated trucks were introduced by the ice cream industry in about 1925.
Dry Van
The most common method of shipping by freight is the use of dry-van. A dry-van is basically a massive box with wheels
Any sort of basic freight that needs a limited form of protection from the environment will be appropriate for a dry-van. Most factories, resellers, and even consumer outlets are equipped with the appropriate facility, such as a loading dock, to accommodate dry-van shipment and deliveries specifically. The advantage of a dry van is its commonality; the wide usage and resulting high availability.
Most dry-vans can legally handle no more than 45,000 pounds.
